What will you be doing? - About the Position
Camp Nurses are an essential part of the camp’s daily operation. Their purpose is to monitor and supervise the healthcare needs of all campers, staff, and visitors at Elks Camp Moore. They are to assist in leading all emergency action plans and ensuring state and national accreditations, licensing and certifications are in compliance.

You’re comfortable and confident communicating with families, doctors, and camp staff. You’re able to explain health plans, medications, and any concerns clearly and compassionately, ensuring families feel informed and reassured.
Skilled in Patient Care
You provide attentive and compassionate care to both campers and staff. Whether it’s treating minor injuries, managing chronic conditions, or providing routine check-ups, you are dedicated to maintaining the health and well-being of everyone at camp.
Medication Management
Administering medications as per doctor's orders is a key part of the role. You are organized, precise, and careful in ensuring that all medications are administered on time, following specific instructions, and maintaining accurate records.
Emergency Response
You are quick to respond in emergencies, staying calm under pressure. Whether it’s an allergic reaction, an injury, or another urgent situation, you know how to provide the necessary first aid, coordinate care, and manage the situation efficiently.

Campers and staff may share personal health information with you, and you take privacy seriously. You handle sensitive information with confidentiality, ensuring that all health matters are kept private and secure.

Entry Requirements
1.Must be 18 years of age or older.
2. Must provide a physical / health form that has been signed by a medical professional. Annual health screening will be required for any staff who has a gap in their work schedule greater than 6 months between worked days.
3. Complete camp application including the ability to obtain three acceptable professional / character references from non-family members or friends. These should consist of previous employment, volunteer organizations, professors/teachers, sports coaches, or community members who know you well enough to provide an acceptable reference.
4. Must provide the camp with a voluntary disclosure form, and a USA & Home Country police/background check which includes a sex offender record verification. These checks must be completed annually for all staff members regardless if they have been employed year-round or seasonally. These checks must be clear without a history of any offenses.
5. Ability to attend and successfully complete/pass a New Hire Training before working directly with any campers.
